Suzlon secures 269MW wind turbine order

Wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy had secured orders worth about $403m for a total 269MW.

The firm has received 80MW in India, and a total of 189MW of orders in Brazil and US, over a period of one month.

These orders were secured between 22 December 2011 and 23 January 2012.

The order sizes range from as small as 0.6MW to 121MW and comprises of turbines from Suzlon's latest S9X suite, among other S-series models.

Suzlon chairman and managing director Tulsi Tanti said these orders reiterate not only the dynamic and rapidly growing Indian wind sector, but also Suzlon's presence in emerging economies and competitive markets such as Brazil and US.
