Suzlon Group wins $122m contract from CLP in India

Wind turbine-manufacturer, Suzlon has secured $122m contract from CLP India for setting up a 100MW wind project in Rajasthan, India.

The project will comprise of Suzlon's latest S97-2.1MW wind turbines, featuring DFIG technology.

The project is scheduled to be commissioned by January 2013.

Upon completion, this new wind energy project will take the company's wind power portfolio to more than 740MW.

CLP India is engaged in renewable energy, supercritical coal-fired and gas-fired power generation, with its current capacity amounting to over 2,715MW.

CLP India is the Indian subsidiary of Hongkong-based power company CLP.
