GDF SUEZ to develop wind projects in Romania, Poland

EBR Staff Writer Published 06 February 2012

French energy firm GDF Suez is planning to develop two wind power projects in Romania and Poland totaling 100MW.

The two new wind farms to be developed are a 48MW project in Romania and 51MW project in Poland which is expected to double the firm's wind capacity in the country.

In 2011, the company installed 20MW Jarogniew-Moltowo and 30MW Wartkowo wind farms inaugurated in Poland.

The Gemenele wind farm in Romania is scheduled to start operations this year.

GDF Suez chairman and CEO Gerard Mestrallet said the development of the firm's wind projects in Romania and Poland demonstrates its desire to improve the diversification of the GDF Suez energy mix.
