Published: 06-Oct-2009
Centrica plc (Centrica) is not willing to take a bigger share in four new nuclear plants to be constructed by Electricite de France S.A. (EDF), the Daily Telegraph reported citing some sources. EDF had announced that it might sell a 20% stake worth at least GBP3 billion ($4.78 billion) in two reactors at Hinkley Point in Somerset and two nuclear reactors at Sizewell in Suffolk. Centrica has the right to take up a 20% stake in the new nuclear projects.
Centrica which has bought 20% of British Energy Group plc for GBP2.3 billion, is understood not to take a bigger stake in the new nuclear projects, according to the Daily Telegraph.
