AES reports financial close on 49MW wind farm in California
The AES Corp has reached financial close on the 49MW Mountain View IV wind project located in Palm Springs in the US state of California.
Southern California Edison has signed a 20-year fixed price power purchase agreement to buy the electricity generated by Mountain View IV power project.
Commercial operation of the wind power project is expected by the end of this year.
The power project is owned by AES Wind Generation, a subsidiary of The AES Corp, and debt financing for the project was underwritten by MUFG Power & Utilities Group.
The wind farm will consist of 49 Mitsubishi MHI MWT62/1.0 1MW turbine generators.
